Beautiful, gentle book coming soon from Alex Banwell
Alex Banwell is a passionate lover of Jesus and wants to share His love with as many people as possible. She believes we can worship Him in every area of our lives through our varied interests and hobbies, but one of the ways Alex does this is through writing.
Alex writes contemporary fiction and her novels focus on the life of a boy named Benny who lives with severe epilepsy. Her incredible ability to create characters we can all relate to, allows her to gently share Jesus’ love through her stories.
Alex wrote Just Benny without ever expecting it to go out into the world. After bravely self-publishing the book a couple of years ago, Alex has become a valued member of the team at Kingdom Story Writers; a community of writers inspired to write Jesus-focused stories, both fiction and non-fiction.
Here at Broad Place Publishing, we loved Alex's book, and saw great potential in her and what she had written. We wanted to help her get the book out to a wider audience and were so excited when she agree to bring Just Benny, and the sequel More Than Benny's Mother, into our fold. Just Benny will be published in February 2025, and pre-orders are now up!
If you are interested in Alex's work, please use the button below to sign up for her newsletter, and she will send you a beautiful short story, to introduce you to her writing and inspire you to pray for her. We would also love for you to partner with us, if you are able, to help cover the publishing costs, so we can produce the most beautiful book possible. Both kinds of support are invaluable.
To his mother, he’s her precious baby, forever in need of protection. To his sister, he’s ‘Pestie’, the kid who destroyed her happy childhood. To his classmates, he’s the quiet loner plagued by seizures. To his father, he’s barely visible; a constant disappointment.
Caught in a web of insecurity, Benny defines himself by his illness and the damage it’s wrought on his mind. But is he truly rubbish at everything? Or could he be worth loving?
Join Benny on a poignant journey of self-discovery as he seeks to understand his own worth. What will it take for him to break free from his labels and embrace the person he truly is?
Just Benny is available to pre-order now and will be published in February 2024.
