A little bit about me… The Morning routine has become more than just some quiet time with a hot cuppa, it’s become a way of life! In my performing days, it was the one of the things that helped me from out of work and desperate to confident and the Leading lady once more. Having had 10 years of a wonderful career playing Lead roles in Les Miserable, Mamma Mia! Brighton Rock, and Never Forget, I have had my fare share of auditions and I know how the nerves and anxieties can kick in and take over. When I came back from traveling the world for eighteen months, I was desperate to get back into the industry. For two and a half years I was just that… desperate, worthless and I sabotaged any opportunity I had before I even got into the room. I knew things had to change!

That’s when I discovered a morning practice to get me in the right head space. Having 20-30 minutes to myself each morning was essential to my mental well-being, focus, productivity and my general mood and energy. Not only did it help me on a day to day basis, but on an audition day it was a game changer.

Being a Mum of two now, my morning practice certainly looks a bit different, BUT… I know for sure that when I was performing, if I won the morning, I won the day!! I spent too many years feeling lethargic, unmotivated, dare I say worthless. Unless I had an audition or a show, I felt a little lost in what to do with my day. I know it sounds absurd, but when if you have ever felt like this, then keep reading.

Giving yourself 20-30 minutes  to  "JUMP START YOUR DAY THE MUSICAL MENTOR WAY"  will build strong foundations to being mentally fit and ready. As performers we can experience feelings of overwhelm and not being in control of our lives. We can prepare the best for auditions, but the final decision is out of our hands.  A morning routine will help you prepare for any eventuality, shift your perspective on rejection, and teach you how to  give yourself time to reflect and grow. On audition days, warming up vocally and physically is part of your prep. I want to introduce you to  YOUR MENTAL WARM UP!

That’s totally fine. The morning routine isn’t about doing it at the crack of dawn, it’s about doing it before you start your ‘working day’ if you can. Whether that be before the kids wake up, the emails need replying to or social media notifications get any attention. Each day is a new beginning, and my course will guide you to restart every day.

Like everything in life, nothing is guaranteed. This is all about what you put in, you will get out. This isn’t a one size fits all, it’s the beginning of learning what a morning practice could look like for you. So, it’s about being patient and starting over if it doesn’t go to plan.

No! Because you were action takers, I would love to reward you by gifting you these when they become available next year.

  • Playing Grizabella in the UK and European tour was down to the dedication I gave to myself every morning. It helped me to validate myself, build my self worth and self-belief. In this industry we are constantly seeking outside validation. Whether it be from the audition, the performance, the director or even our piers. What I truly believe helped me to stop NEEDING this, was to start with VALIDATING MYSELF FIRST…

LET ME SHOW YOU HOW!
