Why standing still is important skill for your horse?

Standing still when groomed is beneficial because:

  • it's a lot safer = for example your toes aren't in danger
  • situation is more relaxed = both horse and people have lower stress levels than with a restless horse
  • it's nicer for both of you = it's a lot nicer to tend a horse whose state of mind is relaxed and calm than a horse that is restless, agitated or tense.  
  • it's so easy = a horse can be taught so that he stands still even in liberty
