A New Kind of Light is Coming.
Thoughtful. Responsible. Born from the ocean.
The Ocean Collection turns recycled fishing nets into light. Objects shaped by material responsibility.
PA6 nylon recovered from end-of-life fishing nets forms the foundation of each design. A material built for extreme conditions, reclaimed and refined for a second life as light. It defines the character of the collection and anchors its purpose. The forms follow natural systems found along the coast - tension, flow, layered structures - translated directly into light. The result is lighting that feels calm, solid, and intentional. Objects that belong in a space, rather than compete with it. This collection marks the beginning of Mocamar. Because it sets the direction.

Do you have questions
Don't worry, we got you. Here are some answers for your questions.
We’re currently finalizing our first production pieces. Ordering is expected to open in spring, once development is complete, specifications are confirmed, and production is ready to begin. Waitlist members will be notified first.
Our primary material is PA6 filament derived from end-of-life fishing nets. Some objects are made entirely from this material, while others combine it with recycled PLA or recycled PETG where specific functional or structural properties are required. We work with suppliers that provide traceable, recycled material streams. All final products will be clearly labeled with their exact material composition.
Joining the waitlist gives you early access to our first releases. You’ll be notified when:
final specifications are confirmed
production timelines are set
early access or pre-orders open
The waitlist isn’t a sales funnel. It’s how we keep the first release small, intentional, and manageable.
When our first collection is launched, we'll ship within the United States (all 50 states). International shipping will may be available in 2027.
Ghost gear (nets lost or abandoned in the ocean) accounts for only 1-2% of all fishing nets. Recovering them is:
Extremely expensive (diving operations, boat costs, remote locations)
Inconsistent supply (can't scale production when supply is unpredictable)
Nearly impossible to verify (how do you prove a net came from the ocean vs. land disposal?)
Often mixed materials (In many cases, “ghost net” compounds contain only minimal amounts of recovered nets, with the rest made up of virgin polymers.)
Many "ocean plastic" brands use this narrative for marketing, but they can't verify their supply chain. They blend ghost gear (if any) with standard recycled nylon and market it all as "ocean recovered."
We won't do that. We use end-of-life nets from fishers instead. We intercept waste before it becomes pollution. That's the goal.
