Posture is simply a word to describe the way we hold and move our bodies. More importantly it is so much more important than just aesthetics.
Theoretically there is no such thing as perfect posture as we should be moving our bodies in different ways throughout the day.
The reality is, we are in one position for hours at a time. When this happens the lack of movement starts to cause issues from how we feel to the strength and balance of our joints and muscles.
So in short your personal body holding 'habits', can affect your health in ways you wouldn't believe, from the daily aches and pains you might feel, to your emotional wellbeing.
Thankfully yoga is such a varied practice that it can fill in that movement void. With a regular yoga practice you can:

*When I had the garden room built it was my aim that I could offer an intimate space for people to explore moving their bodies in a safe and supportive environment.
*My workshops can only accommodate up to 7 people.

Absolutely. The movements and drills I will teach during the workshop are suitable for all fitness levels and yoga experience (even if that is zero).
Age is just a number so you are never too old. Posture issues are more common for all age groups now because of our lifestyle habits. I welcome all ages to these workshops - your health matters.
All you need is some comfy clothes and a yoga mat (if you don't have a yoga mat, no big deal. Do it on your carpet or grab a towel). You will also need a laptop or phone with a decent internet connection.
This workshop is for anyone who wants to look after their body's ability to move freely for life. You may be someone who is already dealing with a little bit of slumping and forward head posture or suffering with a neck, shoulder or lower back issue (which is being exacerbated by your work/lifestyle). This workshop will teach you all you need to know about protecting your posture for life so that you can enjoy it to the full, doing the activites which make life worth living.
Hey, I'm Sarah and I have been teaching yoga since 2008. Yoga is an amazing tool for self awareness, empowerment and healing. I have had first hand experience of this after healing my chronic lower back pain and sciactica using yoga.
Since my own healing experience my mission has been to teach others how to empower themselves to heal their own bodies and mind using this amazing practice.
Why does yoga work? Well, in a nutshell it is a mind and body movement practice which helps you to get to know yourself intimately. It is this initimate relationship with yourself which guides you to the path of self healing.
Yoga is my best friend for keeping my body strong, mobile and injury resislient and my mind calm and happy. I am very excited to share all that I have learnt about posture and yoga with you so that you can achieve the body you want and the life that brings you joy.
