In This Workshop We will Explore

    • Easy take-aways to help you introduce movement breaks that will reverse our habits of sitting and not moving much.
    • Your personal 'body story' and look into the daily habits that are affecting your posture.
    • Enjoy a yoga practice that will address address the domino effects of our sitting and looking at tech culture including poses that will aliviate neck, shoulder, back and hip pain, whilst also strengthening the muscles that support a healthier posture (the core and the muscles of the back body - sometimes called the posterior chain).
    • We will also look at how our feet (the way we stand etc.) can influence our posture and explore some foot yoga that will keep them healthy and happy.

    Why Bother With Posture?

Posture is simply a word to describe the way we hold and move our bodies.  More importantly it is so much more important than just aesthetics.

Theoretically there is no such thing as perfect posture as we should be moving our bodies in different ways throughout the day.

The reality is, we are in one position for hours at a time.  When this happens the lack of movement starts to cause issues from how we feel to the strength and balance of our joints and muscles.

So in short your personal body holding 'habits', can affect your health in ways you wouldn't believe, from the daily aches and pains you might feel, to your emotional wellbeing.

Thankfully yoga is such a varied practice that it can fill in that movement void.  With a regular yoga practice you can:

    • improve your body confidence both inside and out.
    • decrease your risk of getting ill.
    • decrease your risk or getting injured.
    • increase your brain power (a healthy neck alignment is key to cognitive performance).
    • help you to breathe better.
    • keep you spine happy and healthy.

Absolutely.   The movements and drills I will teach during the workshop are suitable for all fitness levels and yoga experience (even if that is zero).

          Am I too old?

Age is just a number so you are never too old.  Posture issues are more common for all age groups now because of our lifestyle habits.  I welcome all ages to these workshops - your health matters.

          Do I need anything?

All you need is some comfy clothes and a yoga mat (if you don't have a yoga mat, no big deal. Do it on your carpet or grab a towel).   You will also need a laptop or phone with a decent internet connection.

          About Sarah Lou Yoga

Hey, I'm Sarah and I have been teaching yoga since 2008.   Yoga is an amazing tool for self awareness, empowerment and healing.   I have had first hand experience of this after healing my chronic lower back pain and sciactica using yoga.

Since my own healing experience my mission has been to teach others how to empower themselves to heal their own bodies and mind using this amazing practice.

Why does yoga work?  Well, in a nutshell it is a mind and body movement practice which helps you to get to know yourself intimately.   It is this initimate relationship with yourself which guides you to the path of self healing.

Yoga is my best friend for keeping my body strong, mobile and injury resislient and my mind calm and happy.  I am very excited to share all that I have learnt about posture and yoga with you so that you can achieve the body you want and the life that brings you joy.
