I’m Tita. I speak bee.
Natural beekeeper, international bee educator, death doula and historian helping humans understand the secret lives of bees.

From 2 hives to an international hive mind
I started my beekeeping journey with 2 incredible mentors.
Bob was a third-generation Anglo-Irish beekeeper with over 70 years of experience. He introduced me to the bees and taught me the conventional ways. Though he has since passed, his knowledge and love for the bees continue to inspire every choice I make in my apiary. Two of his beloved hives established my first apiary.
Later I trained with Ariella Daly, master beekeeper and founder of Honey Bee Wild. Her 10-month natural beekeeping course helped me see another side of beekeeping, that is more about relationship and less about control.
Now I care for 12 hives in 3 apiaries in Scotland. A highlight of my work so far was with Shanghai Roots & Shoots, where I taught my first bilingual online class for Chinese bee lovers. Sharing about the bees across languages and cultures showed me how much people everywhere want to connect with these incredible creatures

My approach
Minimal interventions.
No miticides and antibiotics.
Harvest only once a year, and only when there is surplus.
No plastic foundation, I let my bees build natural comb.
Never re-queen (killing of queen bees).
No to drone culling (killing male bees).
Sweet words from the community

Essays, Diaries, Bees & Beyond
I really enjoy writing on Substack. It’s a place where I can share the bees’ teachings in more detail. What you see on social media is just a small part of the Beewitching Embassy. There is a lot more buzzing on Substack!
Free Essays: nerdings, mini-essays, and the occasional rant.
Weekly Beekeeping Diaries Membership: deeper dives into beekeeping methods, failures, experiments, and behind-the-scenes reflections from the apiary.
It’s for anyone curious about bees, their behaviour and what we can learn from them.

Collaborations & Teaching
I love collaborating with like-minded people who care about bees and the environment.
One of my favorite projects was with Shanghai Roots & Shoots, where I taught a class called The Bee-Centred Life while they explored the environment and how bees fit into it. The session is recorded on YouTube. This Mandarin-English bilingual class is a lovely example of sharing bee knowledge globally.
I also run online workshops for schools, businesses, and groups, exploring topics from the hive lifecycle to honey production, and even guided sessions connecting with the bees in meditative ways.
Whether it’s teaching, mentoring, or creative collaborations, I’m always excited to work with folks who want to explore bees, nature, and mindful living together.

Upcoming Class
The Bees That Outlived the Ice Age – Coming soon.
This online class explores the Western European dark bees, how they survived the Ice Age, and what we can learn from their resilience today. It’s part science, part history, part reflection.
