Ukrainian Softly

It is for those who are learning Ukrainian, but feel tired of grammar rules and exercises.

Inside, you’ll find invitations — to explore, notice, invent, make mistakes, speak however it comes out — and not be afraid.

The book is about:

JOURNEY

Instead of drills and rules, you’ll step into stories, sounds, and experiments.

CONNECTION

It’s not about perfection, it’s about making the language yours.

DISCOVERY

This isn’t about chasing C1.
It’s about weaving Ukrainian into your creative process and seeing what unfolds.

CREATION

And what if fluency starts not with grammar, but with a whisper?

Hello! I’m Marichka Kosiichuk.

For the past five years, I’ve been teaching Ukrainian to foreign students and working on my own artistic projects. This journey inspired me to combine language learning with creative practices — helping foreign artists immerse themselves in the Ukrainian context with care and respect for their own creative process.

I have a background in philology. In the past, I was teaching Ukrainian at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv and worked on theatre projects as a performer, manager, and course trainer (Archa Theatre, Jam Factory, Lesia Theatre).

I research Hutsul and Romani literature and have a published short story written in the Hutsul dialect. I also work in audio description and create documentary stories about national minorities in Ukraine.
