was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. At a young age she began to discern her very high levels of empathy. Her own story of brokenness fuels her passion to journey with others and help them make sense of their painful stories. Her whole heart gravitates towards the helping profession. She is the creator of the short course entitled: “Unlearning: Be Transformed by the Renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2)”, which proposes that new ways of learning can only be acquired when individuals unlearn thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that prevent them from attaining holistic well-being. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she opened her online counselling practise to meet the dire need of the mental health crisis at the time. Her life’s work is to help others become products of their purpose and not their pain, assisting individuals in moving from merely surviving to thriving.
She has a Bachelor of Theology: in Community Leadership: Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts Psychology (Honors). In 2024 she begins her Masters in Practical Theology: Clinical Pastorate. She does not believe in living the same day twice and is grateful to spend her days either; enjoying a coffee overlooking her beloved Table Mountain; teaching; counselling; writing; speaking, or mentoring. She worked as an entertainer in South Africa, the Middle East and Europe, and uses the performing ARTS in her lectures as a powerful teaching tool. Both her parents have passed on, and she aspires to live in their legacy of servant leadership. She has a younger sister who lives in New York. Taryn is married to Roberto and has one son and two stepdaughters. Their dream is to build a home in the West Coast town of Langebaan and to continue to fulfil God’s prophetic call on their union.
