I'd like to begin by explaining why this is so important.
The birth plan is a document through which the mother and the couple communicate their preferences for childbirth and the postpartum period to the healthcare facility.
It serves several purposes, including:
Gaining a solid understanding to make informed decisions;
Setting clear birth goals;
Assessing the procedures and guidelines followed by their doctor and chosen hospital;
Taking full responsibility for your decisions and choices;
Encouraging self-determination.
Writing a birth plan is ESSENTIAL—not only for setting your intentions, wishes, and preferences for your birth experience but also for building confidence and understanding different birth's possibilities and scenarios.
