Children aged between 4 and 11, who may struggle with their emotions or behaviours, and may be perceived as:

  • Quiet and withdrawn (lacking in confidence)

  • Overly compliant

  • Disruptive

  • Argumentative or defiant

  • Attention or attachment seeking

  • Highly anxious

The groups aim to develop:

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Self-awareness

  • Emotional literacy skills

  • The ability to self-regulate

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Healthier relationships

The programme runs over 12 weeks:

  • Weeks 1 & 2: Referral selection, assessment, classroom observations and introductions

  • Week 3 - 10: Messy Play Groups

  • Week 11 & 12: Reports, feedback & recommendations

Step 1: Grounding activity
Step 2: Circle time (identify emotions)
Step 3: Non-directive play (including messy play)
Step 4: Circle time

Your Therapist will need 2 hours in total to run the session (30 mins set up, 45 mins group, 15 mins notes, 30 mins clear down)
