The WOW Show is a live online channel creating real-life encounters with the world of work to inspire young people about their futures.

Our special shows shine a spotlight on different industries and sectors and the career opportunities and pathways they offer young people. These range from live-streamed events as a shared learning experience to Assembly-tailored programme formats and FaceTime-like Q&As (CareersCast) where students can quiz employers directly. Each Show is supported with lesson plans authored by teachers for KS3, KS4 and KS5.

We are proud to have been named Careers Provider of the Year by the Careers and Enterprise Company and the Gatsby Foundation at the annual Careers Excellence Awards.

WHAT STUDENTS AND TEACHERS SAY...

‘I think one of the strongest things about the show was highlighting the different jobs and creating an opportunity to have discussions with kids to break down misconceptions. This creates high levels of engagement and really appeals to students. It would do really well in our career programme.’

TEACHER

‘I found it quite cool. It’s definitely given me a different side to jobs in healthcare.’

STUDENT (YEAR 8)

‘Nothing beats a real-life work experience, but The WOW Show as a digital means does a great job at visualising a variety of jobs…so this digitally shows real-life encounters.’

TEACHER

Save time with preparation-free lessons

To help teachers use each show to maximum effect we provide lesson plan materials for each of KS3, KS4 and KS5.

These have been fully prepared with written plans and PowerPoint lesson slides and will include a cross-curricular guide. They are written by teachers (at VotesforSchools) for teachers to link the content of the show to curriculum learning supporting Gatsby Benchmark 4.

These aim to help teachers develop creative sessions in the classroom to extend students’ engagement with the careers shown and allow them to interact with the programme by submitting questions to our follow up Q&A CareersCast.
