I'm Matthew. I became a separated parent in 2015. I have 3 children, 2 of whom I have from a former relationship. In 2016 I became involved with the family courts and CMS, and I soon became incensed by a system that pours fuel on the fire of parental separation. At a time when I needed help to minimise the conflict of divorce and separation for the sake of my children, I became entangled in an industry which made everything so much worse.

Once I had successfully rid myself of both systems (in early 2022), I set out to offer a service which helped those struggling with the same issues I had faced. This became Child Maintenance Solutions. I aim to provide a service that is cost effective, responsive, experienced, flexible and caring. In my opinion these are all qualities lacking in any current services available to parents.

Initially providing advice on Facebook forums to help other struggling separated parents, I soon became a researcher for issues surrounding Child Maintenance. Particularly those related to the suicide of paying parents. I became a self taught subject matter expert regarding the Child Maintenance Service and it's origins following Sir David Henshaw's 2006 report into the now disgraced Child Support Agency. I have gone on to provide research assistance to national parental reform groups, political parties, national newspapers and TV channels.

As well as campaigning for reform for both receiving and paying parents, I have taken on an increasing number of clients as a professional McKenzie Friend in this complex and specialist area (there are at least 62 different pieces of statute governing child maintenance in England and Wales).
