I'm Louise Day, specialist speech and language therapist. I've been supporting Autistic children since I was 16 years old as a carer and playworker. I went on to train as a speech and language therapist 13 years ago and decided to specialise in helping Autistic and non speaking children. I have worked in the NHS in schools for autistic children. In 2021 I set up my own private practice so, I could work more intensively with children and have more freedom over the way I worked. I have a passion for learning about the way a child sees the world and supporting them with their communication.

I am also a mum of two and one of my children is awaiting an Autism diagnosis. It's been interesting to experience this as a parent and I bring my knowledge from personal and professional experience into my work.

I am an advocate for Autism and disability acceptance, recognising every child is unique with their own strengths. I use a neurodivergent affirming approach and am informed by the lived experience of Autism as well as current research.

I have developed Neurodivergent Communication training which I have delivered at city wide events and for charities.

Reviews - don't take my word for it. Here's feedback from parents who have benefitted from my support.

“I love working with Louise. I love that she trusts I know my child
best. I have benefited from reassurance my son is progressing,
that we’re on the right track and suggestions to continue to
build on the blocks we already have. I’d recommend her 110%.”

Parent

"The biggest change for me was when I attended Louise's Neurodivergent Communication. I realised there were a lot of things I could do better."

Grandparent

“Louise was very welcoming. She has given me tools to use daily
that will help with my son’s frustrations. I really liked the fact
she put things into perspective and gave ideas that made sense
and were straightforward to implement. She is kind, helpful and
allows lots of time for questions. I would recommend Louise.”
