I’m Joy, founder of JOOY YOGA. After years in a busy corporate career (mostly in financial services), I retrained in Ashtanga Vinyasa and continued my studies into Prenatal, Postnatal, Yin yoga and Sound Healing.

This Winter Series was created to keep our community moving and connected while in-person classes pause. Our regular group classes – and the next Explore Yoga beginners’ course – return in February 2026

While I’m away, we’ll keep your practice going with an accessible and progressive 8-week journey you can follow at your own pace, from wherever you are.

The mission is to stay consistent, manage stress, and build confidence at home this winter.

How does it work?

Over 8 weeks, you’ll receive a new recorded class every week inside my Online Vault hosted on Skool.

Each class is designed to meet you where you are in winter – starting slow and grounding in December, then gently building warmth, strength and confidence through January.

What’s included:

  • One new on-demand class each week

  • A clear, 8-week progression – from grounding and Yin-inspired practices to gentle re-awakening, shoulder opening, balance work and a closing with deep rest.

  • Lifetime access to all the recordings, so you can repeat classes whenever you like

Your 8-Week Winter Journey

Week 1 – Grounding & Breath Reset
A slow, beginner-friendly yoga practice to reconnect with breath and body and set the tone for winter.

Week 2 – Yin Release for Upper Back, Neck & Shoulders
Yin-inspired, floor-based holds to ease tension from screens, desk posture and everyday stress.

Week 3 – Foundations for Hips & Lower Back
Gentle standing and floor work to mobilise hips and hamstrings and build a steady, supported base for your lower back.

Week 4 – Digestive Support Flow (Rest & Digest)
Twists, gentle compression and release to support digestion and soothe your nervous system post-Christmas.

Week 5 – Slow Flow Reawaken
A warm, steady New Year slow flow to reawaken your body and rebuild momentum without the bootcamp vibe.

Week 6 – Shoulder Opening Flow
Space across the chest and upper back with supported backbends and twists to unwind tight shoulders and lift your posture.

Week 7 – Balance & Stability Practice
Standing balance and grounding work to strengthen legs, improve focus and build quiet confidence.

Week 8 – Deep Release & Integration (Flow into Yin)
A longer, closing practice that blends gentle movement into Yin holds to bring everything together and land the series.

    Send a 15-minute practice clip twice during the series (one mid-way, one towards the end)

Don't worry, we got you. Here are some popular answers for your questions.

This series is for you if you want a gentle but structured way to keep up your yoga through December and January – without hardcore fitness vibes.

You don’t need to be flexible or “good at yoga”. You do need to be willing to:

  • Listen to your body

  • Take things at your own pace

  • Pause or skip anything that doesn’t feel right

If you’re an absolute first-timer and very anxious, you might prefer to wait for the next in-person Explore Yoga beginners’ course in February 2026 . HOwever, many new or returning students will be absolutely fine to start here.

Short version:

  • Digital-Only – all 8 classes, no personalised coaching

  • Recorded Feedback – all 8 classes + one personal coaching video (most people choose this)

  • VIP – all 8 classes + two coaching videos + weekly check-ins + free extras

A bit more detail:

  • Digital-Only:
    8 classes, weekly drops, lifetime access, light Q&A, first to hear about any extras.

  • Recorded Feedback (capped at 8 spots):
    Everything in Digital-Only, plus one feedback check-in – you send up to 15 minutes of your practice, I send a 10–15 minute coaching video with clear cues and focus points. You also get special pricing on any extras whilst I’m away.

  • VIP (capped at 4 spots):
    Everything in Recorded Feedback, plus a second feedback check-in later in the series, a weekly questions channel (one message per week, I reply during office hours), and free access to any extra recorded practices and pop-up lives I’m able to offer.

If you’re unsure, Recorded Feedback is the best middle ground for most people.

For Recorded Feedback and VIP:

  1. You record up to 15 minutes of you practising – either following one of the Winter classes, or working on specific poses.

  2. You send me the video (usually as an unlisted link) by the deadline.

  3. I watch it and send back a 10–15 minute coaching video or audio with:

    • What you’re doing well

    • 2–3 key things to focus on

    • Simple suggestions for the next few weeks

VIPs get this twice during the series (mid-way and towards the end). Recorded Feedback students get one deep dive.

Each weekly class will run between 25–60 minutes.

You don’t have to keep up perfectly in real time:

  • You can watch the new class that week

  • Or catch up later and repeat favourites

  • Or stretch the 8 classes over a longer period if life gets busy

You keep access to the recordings, so there’s no “failing” or being kicked out if you miss a week.

Lives are a bonus, not the main part of this series.

Because I’ll be travelling and in a different time zone, I can’t promise fixed live sessions. If/when my schedule and internet allow:

  • VIPs get first, free access to any pop-up lives

  • Recorded Feedback gets special pricing on any remaining spaces

  • Digital-Only students get early announcements and standard pricing

If no lives happen, you still get the full 8-class Winter Series exactly as described.

YouTube and apps are brilliant for one-off classes – but they’re not built around you or this season of your life.

This Winter Series is different because:

  • It’s a planned 8-week journey, not a random playlist

  • It’s designed specifically for December–January energy – more grounding and Yin-style work when you’re tired, more warmth and balance work when you’re ready

  • You’re guided by one consistent teacher (me) so you can settle in and build trust

  • You have the option of personal feedback on your own practice (Recorded Feedback and VIP tiers), which you won’t get from a generic video library

  • You’re part of my existing community – not just another anonymous user - I will reply to your messages!

If you just want occasional free classes, YouTube is great. If you want a gentle but intentional winter container, this is what I’ve built the series for.

You don’t have to start in Week One for this to be useful.

As long as enrolment is still open, you can join at any point. When you sign up you’ll:

  • Get instant access to all the classes that have already been released

  • Then receive the remaining classes as they drop, week by week

  • Keep lifetime access to everything, so you can follow the 8-week journey in your own time

The “Week 1–8” structure is there to give you a gentle rhythm – not to make you feel behind.

If you choose Recorded Feedback or VIP, the feedback deadlines still apply (e.g. the main cut-off in January), so the earlier you join, the more time you have to practice and then send your video in. But even if you sign up later, we can still use your check-in to see where you’re at now and what to focus on next.

You’ll need:

  • A yoga mat or non-slip surface

  • Enough space to stand and lie down comfortably

  • A device to watch on (laptop, tablet or phone)

Helpful extras:

  • A cushion or folded blanket

  • A yoga block and strap (or a book and scarf/belt as alternatives)

That’s it. No fancy kit required.

This is general guidance and not a replacement for medical advice.

  • Always listen to your body and skip or adapt anything that doesn’t feel right.

  • If something hurts sharply or feels wrong, come out of the pose straight away and rest.
