Project Background
Hi 👋
For a while now, We’ve been developing a build plate changer for 3D printers. In our company, we run several enclosed 3D printers and handle a high volume of batch printing. Managing the process manually — waiting for prints to finish, removing build plates, cleaning them, reinserting them, and restarting the prints — takes a surprising amount of time each day.
What’s worse, the printers never finish printing at the same time, and swapping build plates outside of working hours ofcourse isn’t possible. We always wondered why no one had come up with a solution for this.
As it turns out, building a system that reliably changes build plates isn’t as simple as it sounds. But after many prototypes (and a lot of trial and error), we’ve finally developed a solution that works — and works well.
Currently the prototype is designed to fit Bambulab printers (X1C, P1P and P1S), but we're planning to extend the product to fit other brands too.
