Ayat helped us immensely with finding Levi. I contacted Ayat and explained that Levi got spooked by some kites being flown at Dillon Beach. He took off and was almost out of sight when we realized he was gone.
Ayat was able to tell us that he was trying to get back to where people were. His feet were very sore from the surface he was running on and he had burrs in his feet. He was tired and wanted to find his people so he could go home. He was hungry and thirsty and exhausted from being lost. He could smell meat on a grill.
Because of this information, we were able to hone in on a certain area and pass out flyers. We explained Levi wasn't approachable, so to call or text if he was spotted. Within an hour of passing out those flyers, Levi was spotted. He was in an area with lots of people and the smell of grilling meat. It was pretty much the scenario Ayat had described. We got many texts and calls. We found him very quickly after the initial sighting.
Everything Ayat had gotten from Levi was true. His feet were a mess. He was hungry, thirsty and had lots of burrs.
We feel very grateful to Ayat for her help in finding Levi. I'm not sure we would have been able to locate him without her help.
